This massive stadium is the home to the final round of the World Drift Series in Hangzhou, China. Usually home to sports like soccer and track & field events – it has been covered in a thin layer of asphalt and prepped for some of the best drivers in the world. Its cool to see the grassroots scene in Shanghai and China.

I’ve given out a few KDF stickers to some of the Chinese drivers. Some of which were sporting some knock off Illest and Fatlace stickers.

Kyle Mohan adds a few Keep Drifting Fun stickers to his former FD car – his Mazda FC RX7. Kyle along with FD drivers Matt Powers, Ross Petty, Josh Guild, and Vaughn Gittin JR are in Hangzhou for the 2nd World Drift Series event at Yellow Dragon Stadium.

Note the KDF logo in the center of his hood!

Some bamboo ladders got some KDF love too. The bamboo ladders helped us gain access to the cat walk to get some cool overhead shots.

Looks like Casey, is having a good time in Japan.

Brandon and the crew at Blue Media, helped us out by wrapping Westy our 1974 VW van. In return, we cut together this :60 video about their facilities and setup in Phoenix, Arizona. They literally have a gigantic HP desk jet looking vinyl printer – that is massive. Plus they are amazing at vehicle wraps.

Wait till around the half minute mark to see Westy go from Brilliant Orange paint to Brilliantly vinyl wrapped.

Had the pleasure of meeting Logan and Shawn @ Episode One Tandem Battle at PGP this past weekend. At PGP they took home first place in the triple tandem competition and were doing some high speed early entries on the PGP Kart course. I saw this trailer a few months ago and the mustaches, humor, and mix of wake surf, bmx, and motorcycle burn outs made me stoked to meet these guys.

Behind the scenes

Thanks again for showing me around and giving me something to film! It was way rad.

First thing in the morning we hit the road to check out our friends at MMI (The guys who manage the Drift Alliance guys, and a bunch of Nascar dudes as well)

On the way to MMI it started raining pretty hard and just after I noticed it was raining, I looked out my window and saw this dude hanging out in the lake. Stick it to the man, rain can’t stop you from having a good time!

After MMI, we met up with our friend Kelly of K2Forma again to check out where she does all sorts of hood rat stuff. Party town, U.S.A.

Somehow we ended up back at MMI to not only take over the office, but to have some fun on their ridiculously awesome simulator.

The Falken Drift/ASD crew had been here earlier in the year and kept track of their times on Road Atlanta. So I jumped on the simulator to see if I could better or match their times.

After a few laps around the course I could only manage to pull of a 1:26:214

Kelly from K2Forma greeted us in the morning to take us around town, and show us what’s awesome about Charlotte.

After checking out the city, I rode with Kelly to a local camera shop where I saw this camera on sale for CHEAP…so I scooped it up so I can start documenting my day to day activities. Plus I’ve been in need of my own personal point and shoot for a long time now.

Back to what I was saying about Jacob’s house. Here’s a few shots of cool stuff around his house. (more in the next post)

Next on the list was a surprise birthday party for our friend Caleb Clark at a pretty cool spot in Noda called Dolce Vita

Spotted some KDF stickers on Calebs water bottle….canteen…whatever, it was rad. Thanks dude, and Happy Birthday again!

Kelly also spotted the latest issue of Blu Magazine, which also has a half-page ad for Keep Drifting Fun. WORD!

SHAZAM

Backtracking here for a second…The night we got into Charlotte, Jacob spotted this place on the newest episode of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, which is also conveniently located next door to Dolce Vita. So eating there was a requirement.

The place was pretty neat inside. Had a bunch of cool stuff hanging on the walls. Plus the guy on the right was loosing his mind. Felt real bad for the dude, but it was pretty entertaining to watch. Kept me busy while we waited for our food.

OH DAMN. BBQ Mahi Tacos. I’ve got nothing else.
